The Longest Whip in the World

34.1 metres - 112 feet

Known as Abraham's Whip, it was made in Echuca, Victoria, Australia, by Abraham Brooks, a saddler. Previously whips of 66 and 88 feet had been made by saddlers, each surpassing the previous record, but to this day Abraham's Whip, made from Kangaroo skin, still holds the record for a 16 plait whip. This whip has been cracked by a team of men.

Foe many years it was used as an advertising gimmick by several Melbourne saddlers including a Mr Kinnear who rolled it out daily on its frame to the front of his business in Bourke St. Melbourne, Victoria.
