RESEARCH  ROOM

The Research Room of the Benalla and District Historical Society (which also manages the Benalla Costume and Pioneer Museum) is housed in the Museum building.

It is normally open to any member of the public on Wednesdays throughout the year from 1.00pm to 3.00pm.

Items available for research include:

  • Benalla Newspapers dating back to the 1800's.

  • Many Local Family History records.

  • Some former Municipal, and Benalla based Government Regional Office records.

  • Many early and more recent Benalla and District photographs.

  • Many books and documents relating to local history.

Much of the research room content is computer catalogued and this process is continuing.
